New Comic Wednesday: Finally, WHAT'S UNDER THE MASK?!

Oh. My. God. It's juicer than I thought, I thought I'd be satisfied once I found out what was under the mask. After one mystery reveals itself another one just pops up! Ugh... I really don't want to spoil what is under that mask, but I was not expecting it. Whoever was expecting it has to be a psychic or something...
For those of you that are in the fandom of SupermanxLois Lane, don't get too excited. I know how intimate the picture is, but it saddens me too. I do like Clark and Lois together. Just create a fan fiction based on the picture.
------------------------------------------
*Spoilers*
I can't really say much else about the comic if I don't spoil it, so the rest of this paragraph will be a spoiler. Read if you don't mind getting spoiled. Not even Lois Lane knew what was behind the mask, she wanted to find out herself. But, who else has similar powers to Superman? Well, it's the kid turned into an adult superhero of course! I know, I'm shocked too! It takes me a while to really understand what's going on in the story. So, if you were keeping up with the Kardashians (just kidding, why would you do that?) then you would know that everyone seems to be talking about this war that changed everybody and everything. Green Arrow is dead (again), Stormwatch is gone (mostly), and we are trying to see if the horrific event that kills everyone in the universe is stopped.
*End Spoilers*
----------------------------------------
The part with Supermans mask is pretty much the only part I actually cared about. So, here a quick thing with everyone else in this issue. Constantine is looking for some monster in the middle of the desert. Deathstroke is with his "family" dealing with OMAC stuff. Hawk girl makes a brief apperance, I assume she is about to start some shit. Though, there is a guest apperance in the end of the issue, who is it, and why do we care?!
Surprise, Thor does have a sister, and it's Loki! Just kidding, had to get my laughs in. Loki has been a girl before, so were used to it. In the last issue, Loki turned into a girl to be with the winged race (minus one person with no wings- Angela. Figures the one name Angela is the least like an angel). Thor is shocked to see that Loki has betrayed him (again). Though, we always know Loki has something up his sleeve. After all, this is agent Loki. Though, there is still old Loki somewhere out there observing everyone.
Also, for those of you Spawn lovers, yes, Angela is originally from spawn. From my understandings from people I talk to in the shop, Angela was created by Neil Gaiman (Sandman). He sold the rights to Angela to Marvel. I don't know why they couldn't just leave Angela where she was, and just create another pacemaker bad ass, but whatever.
I'm really following this because I want to know if this story leads to female Thor. What made Thor so unworthy?

New Comic Wednesday: What on Earth is happening to the multiverse?

It's filled with a bunch of characters we are still unsure of, they aren't the familiar Batman and Superman of the earth we've grown accustomed to in this revamped universe. Though, I wonder about Multiversity #1. How the thoughts on writing it progressed. They advertise it like it's evil and cursed! Is this the ring in comic book form?

I'm so confused I don't know if I could keep reading. I just know that this could really be the end if the DC universe! Plus I wonder if this book connected to Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse. Everything is moving at different paces that I'm confused with what direction DC has with all these books about the end of the world.

Though, with the introduction of Nix Uotan in Infinite Crisis, I assume they are related and will eventually be on the same pace. I should have ready Infinite Crisis #2 first....
Though, I do love the different characters in the comic. A whole universe of Black superheroes. Then there are characters that look like marvel characters. Is this DC's attack? After all there is a character with a symbol that looks like deadpools, but the character is nothing like deadpool. Then, there is the character that looks a lot like Doctor Doom. But my favorite has to be the mini-Wonder woman and Aquawoman (not to be confused with Mera), a gender bender version of Aquaman. Blonde hair and orange-scale suit is included.
Other than that, everything else just makes me super confused. Like, should rabbits break the concept of science itself with his cartoony self? Also, will we follow the voice in the comic and be so weirded out that we would stop reading? I kinda just want to know who the voice is!

A comic I feel more comfortable reading is the Infinite Crisis comic, only because the characters are familiar. Just because the characters are familiar the story is easier to read in a way. Though, the two stories will eventually connect I believe.
My wish is slowly coming true. Zatanna, Flash, and Cyborg are trying to look for Batman. Zatanna finds batman, but Hogwarts didn't teach her how to find the batman of their universe (yay for multiple Batmans... Now give me multiple Nightwings)! Flash's joke was better... I know.

I have to settle for a crazy looking robin for now. And batman that is... Batman and not just any batman, he's the Batman. I guess Bruce doesn't get this multiverse stuff yet. After all... THERE COULD ONLY BE ONE! The batman that appears briefly trying to eat Zatanna and the gang looks pretty cool though! He reminds me of earlier issues of Batman and Detective comics, when he had longer ears and looked like a vampire.
Will our portion of the Justice League meet Batman's new team assembled to save the multiple universes? Or will they be stuck between the universes and the "bleed"? When will there be more Batmans? I still call for an army of Batmans (and Nightwings)!

Later today or tomorrow I will say a few things  about the last installment of Deadpool: Dracula's gauntlet and Batman and Robin (Robin Rises part two).

New Comic Wednesday: Chaos, insanity, and more chaos and insanity!

Superboy is ending! I'm almost as depressed as the day Nightwing ended. Only, Superboy is pretty much in nothing else.... What am I gonna do?! It's also similar to when Blue Beetle ended. Well, they are still gonna have Superboy be a part of Futures End. It makes no sense to me. They are just renumbering it to Futures End: Superboy #1. Are they pulling a Marvel? Or are all the Futures Ends going to be marked as "number one."

Anyway, Superboy is one of my favorites, and since it is ending, I do want to talk about it. I really liked the approach to Superboy. He didn't go from test-tube weapon to trying to live a country-boy life. It went from test-tube alien to super vigilante to a god-like being. Basically, in the last issue Superboy meets another Superboy from another universe and they are in a pocket universe that they created only to be interrupted by ANOTHER Superboy. Yeah, it gets a little confusing especially since they go back from their pocket universe and bring a whole bunch of other Superboys from other universes. Also turning Kon's friends into what they would be in other universes including the Rose Wilson's Ravager! Things get pretty crazy in this issue and series. It makes me sad that it's ending. Though, it is confusing. When other universes are involved it always gets so confusing! Anyway, It's two Superboys and their altered friends against an army of Superboys that can be controlled by the craziest and super blood-thirsty Superboy.
Are you keeping up? I'm barely keeping up.
However, does Superboy of this new 52 earth become successful in defeating the evil Superboy? Even after the end, I feel like it's two simple and there's another twist to this.

Next is New Suicide Squad. The Russians are always up to something... Even in comics! The Suicide Squad has another impossible mission where they are supposed to see what the Russians are up to, they find out the hard way of course. The Russians created these Rocket Reds designed to go up against the Superheroes of America. The Rocket Reds are only a problem on top of their problems that they already have as a team. Deathstroke goes out and does his own thing and the Joker-lovers are still hating each other. Typical cat fight. You got to love it. I still don't know how sanitary that Joker face is...
While they slowly figure out how to be a team in all the chaos, is it too late to save their butts? Well we'll find out five years into the future in Futures end! The only thing I'm looking forward to with all these Future's End issues is FINDING OUT WHY SUPERMAN IS WEARING A MASK!

Also, I forgot to post a movie Monday, but Batman: Assault on Arkham is out on DVD now! It came out yesterday, but it was on iTunes before then so I watched it. So good! I'll try to have a full review on it sometime. Read the comic and the book since it came out on the same week! Even if the only similarities in the teams are Harley Quinn and Deadshot. Though, movie Deadshot looks so much like an animated version of Arrows Deathstroke. Also! it's always interesting to see how Amanda Waller is portrayed. If you were hoping Waller was gonna be the hottie she was in Arrow.... Think again!

Then, I got Nova Special #1, and I thought I'd be able to follow something of Nova since it's just starting and I originally didn't follow Nova. But I was wrong! Oh so wrong... I don't know why they couldn't have put this series SOMEWHERE ELSE! It makes absolutely no sense. It's a number one issue, but part three of a story arc... This is why people do not like Marvel. They trap you with these Number Ones, but they trick you and try to make you buy the other parts happening in other series. I should pay attention before I buy something like this again...
I will admit that I opened it up, hoping that I would catch on, but I didn't. So I out it back down after the first few pages. If you have the other parts of the story, then I guess you should pick it up. If not don't get it. This is what happened when I try to get into a marvel book. I'll just stick to Star Lord and Loki.
Also out this week is Batman and Original Sin! I can't wait to see what happens after the super good Zero Year!

New Comic Wednesday: The Blue-Eyed dreamboats!

Grayson #2 came out today! I was hoping for more information on this organization called Spyral... But the answers are SLOWLY coming. First, the mysterious man with a swirl for a face, apparently that isn't his real face. Though, we won't see his real face for a few more issues... Possibly forever! The swirl is the face that he wants people to see. For some reason, probably using their powers if Hypnos, no one can see their face or remember it as anything else. I just want to know what they are doing! They just seem to be collecting different parts and while they collect everything it seems they find out one more superhero identity. Last time they had both Cyborgs and Batmans identity, and they are trying to find out the whole Justice Leagues identities. What will they do with this information?
What confuses me more is they are already skipping five years of time in the third issue and being in-line with Futures End. I'm still confused on what Futures End is. I thought it was a separate universe because Joker made an appearance with his face clearly attached. Yet, it also had older Batman (batman beyond older). You have to admit that both issues are getting pretty interesting.
Grayson still has to deal with Helena Bertinelli, who seems more dangerous than we think and she is head of a school of girls that they are making to be just like her! I will solely cover the Grayson series since he is my favorite blue-eyed acrobat! So I can't wait till next month with Grayson #3! I just need to know!
Also, on the back of Grayson #2, they have an ad for Batman: Assault on Arkham coming on August 12! I'm excited, especially since Son of Batman was so good! I'll just have to create a collection of DC animated movies right now!

Now, for the other dreamy blue-eyed (non-acrobat) Star-Lord! The Guardians of the galaxy movie just came out, so I wonder how the individual character titles are doing since Rocket Raccoon also comes out today. I didn't say much last month about Star-Lord #1, but we left off with Peter getting this giant gem hidden in an orphanage, and he gave his cash savings to the orphanage to be in good terms with them. I sense a little good-heartedness and a little sneakiness. He has to get out of a bad situation somehow. Also, we find that he has a half-sister who arrested him?! Talk about sibling rivalry. Now, for new fans of Guardians of the Galaxy (aka post-movie fans) they don't know who Star-Lords father is. The movie doesn't leave much hints either just that he is alien. He might be an outlaw himself! But no, he is a King of a planet, and I guess he is spreading his DNA to different kinds of woman across the galaxy.
Between Peter having to deal with his own sister claiming the bounty on his head, he also has to think of a way to head back to earth in time to stop a possible attack from Thanos. What other obstacles possibly stand in his way? Especially since Mister Knife seems very angry that his monster/planet/headquarters was pretty much destroyed.
I cannot wait to see what's in store for both of my blue-eyed comic men next month!

Movie Monday: Guardians of the Galaxy not 100% a dick.

The weekend is over, and that means movie Monday is upon us! This weekend Guardians of the Galaxy came out in theaters. Now, i will honestly say, the only time I ever heard of GOTG is when I went through boxes of a comic shop and when I saw their new comic out on the table. I didn't pick it up, but even before the movie came out or was officiously announced, I heard it was one of the better current Marvel comics. Let's face it, most people have never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy till the movie was announced.
With most of the Marvel comics being more like their movies, it's hard to be critical on the new movie. The new Guardians Comic is very similar to the movie with costumes and looks. Wait, that should be the other way around.

Anyway, the characters that stole the movie Rocket and Groot (aka Han Solo and Chewie). Who doesn't love how adorable Groot is. Though, can I get a dancing Groot toy?! I'll replace my sunflower with it!

Also, Starlord, even if he seems like a pretty-boy, playboy, imbecile, he seems like the perfect caring non-selfish leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy! He seems so dreamy in a way! I don't know if anyone agrees with me. However, I wish they stuck with the original back-story of Starlord. It makes it more intense in a way, but I guess the backstory in the movie still makes his weakness for girls understandable. Starlord is definetely a mommas boy.

Thanos is PERFECT!

Before I give too much credits to the characters in the movies, Gamora is not my favorite. I like her, I just don't like the look they used. I like the above Gamora the best.
Or this one... I can't decide. Maybe I just wish they did the eyes like they do in the comics. That would be so cool!

Though, the end credits... Not gonna give it away, but I wished they would have spent more time on it. The scene looked fake and it disappointed me. I loved the end scene for Captain America with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. But I can't talk about it much without spoiling it!
All in all, a MUST SEE movie. I was scared that this movie would be too much like Iron Man 3 (the marvel movie I hate the most), but it wasn't. Just enough action, just enough humor. And all the main characters are lovable.

Anyway! If you didn't have enough of Guardians of the Galaxy, Starlord #2 and Rocket Racoon #2 come out this Wednesday at comic stores! I think I'll be collecting Starlord from now on. Nothing against Rocket. Starlord is probably my next crush.
