The 75th anniversary of Batman has brought a lot of cool stuff for fans like collectibles and what not. Though, they are bringing a lot of random titles out related to batman in some way. I have the first issue of Gotham Academy and whatnot, but I don't know if I want to collect any of them or read them. Reading Gotham at midnight just reminded me of the beginning scene of Constantine. It probably is a constantine comic dressed up to be a Batman comic.
Also, I dont like the art. And I am a big fan of art. I kind of like the first few pages, but as it goes on the art reminds me of the art in books that have a half-assed drawing every once and a while. Like in some publication's of the Secret Garden. At least I know what's going on in the comic and I am not lost like in Bucky Barnes: the Winter Soldier. It also has a basic outline, so it is easy to follow. But I think I will stick to ths comics I am currently following. I'm just notna big fan of "horror art". If you really like comics like Arkham asylum, then I would recommend this series.
It's a really short post today. I have no marvel comics I wanted to talk about, and I am super sick. So be careful out there guys. Some people will not cover their mouth, so cover yours and wash your hands!
I went out of my way to reccomend Arkham Asylum and you poopoo it lol. Gotham By Midnight is a strong title though, the art may take a little getting used to but it definitely lends itself well to the horror theme, the watered down, earthy tones that are pervasive throughout give Gotham the almost noir type feel it deserves. I say GBM is a good title for anyone interested in a more detective style book
ReplyDeleteHaha, it was just not my style! Not too into the horror stuff. I can barely watch Dexter by myself!
